Are you a Registered Childrens Nurse, looking for a new and exciting
opportunity to work within the Diana Childrens Community Service, covering
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland?
Currently we have vacancies in the Diana Childrens Training Team.
As a Diana Training Nurse, you will develop, facilitate and deliver training
in a specific range of delegable health care tasks to health and non-health
members of staff in order that staff can safely meet the needs of children and
young people with complex health care needs in a variety of settings e.g.
schools
You will be expected to facilitate empowerment and partnership working
with children/ young people and their families and multi-agency services.
You will be an effective team player, but also be able to plan and
organise your own workload, possess excellent communication skills, and an
ability to teach families and health professionals
You will be expected to participate in the provision of
appropriately managed packages of care for terminally ill children/ young
people in hospital and community by being involved with 24/7 on-call system
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Diana
Childrens Community Service as a Band 6 Nurse based within the training team
covering Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
To develop, facilitate and deliver
training in a specific range of delegable health care tasks to health and non-health members of staff in order that staff can
safely meet the needs of children and young people with complex health care
needs in a variety of settings e.g. schools.
Empower staff through support and
training to deliver complex health care tasks confidently and competently in
accordance with the Leicester Competency Assessment Tool (LCAT).
To complete assessments of clinical
skills and competencies of the health and non-health staff who have attended
Diana Training Team theory/e-learning sessions using LCAT.
To be confident at delivering
training in a variety of formats within various health and non-health care
settings, using IT equipment
Identify any additional health training
needs required by service users and feedback/discuss with the wider Diana
Training team
Attend any training pertinent to the
role ensuring you maintain your own clinical competencies through peer
assessments.
Completed ENB 998/CG/Mentorship
course or equivalent.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse / Midwife (for Health Visitors only)Level 1 Degree or Equivalent
- Post Registration Qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months
- Hold an NMC approved mentoring qualification
Desirable
- Leadership or Management Qualification or willingness to work towards
Experience
Essential
- Significant post registration experience in relevant area of practice
- Demonstrates motivation and commitment to providing high quality patient centre care and patient education
- Demonstrates understanding of efficient and effective use of resources
- Experience in teaching and supervision
- Act as a clinical role model, mentor assessor and support for learners
Desirable
- Audit experience/ research skills
- Experience of Patient and Public Involvement in Service Delivery
- Knowledge of budget management
