An opportunity has arisen for a caring, motivated and enthusiastic midwife to manage, lead and support one of our established case loading midwifery teams who care for vulnerable families and our Black, Asian and ethnic minority population.

You will be a committed individual that would like the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of mothers and babies. We are proud as a Maternity Service to have three established case loading teams helping to deliver our exciting vision as part of our commitment to Better Births (2016) and continuity of carer pathways. You will be working in a team of 6 - 8 midwives to cover a 24/7 service supporting our clients. As well as offering the opportunity to care for women in this way, you will have autonomy of your diary, flexible hours, supportive team working and continued development and training.

Job responsibilities

What youll do -

You will lead a team of midwives working flexibly and autonomously within our East NEST Team to provide continuity to women by booking their pregnancy, providing routine antenatal care, team continuity during intrapartum care in all birth settings and postnatal care.

You will need to have excellent communication and leadership skills along with the passion to be self-motivated and to motivate others.

You will be responsible for your caseload, however, will work closely alongside the caseloading and multi-disciplinary team, safeguarding team and external partners to ensure that the experience we provide to women and families is a world class service.

What were looking for A midwife who is passionate about caseloading as a model of midwifery practice. A midwife with caseloading experience looking after vulnerable women and families. A midwife with excellent leadership skills to support the team to deliver quality care and to advocate and embrace new and improved ways of working. Great communication and interpersonal skills to lead their caseload, support the team and liaise with other organisations and health professionals as necessary. Someone who is driven, innovative and committed as we are always looking to improve the service we provide. A midwife with the ability to influence others. A lead that can demonstrate the ability to make clinical decisions and support their team in the decision making process. A midwife that demonstrates a commitment to personal and service development that promotes transformational change.

This model of working requires you to have a driving licence and have access to a car. There is an on-call commitment.
