Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities: As a Substantive Consultant Neurophysiologist, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular adult and pediatric EMG clinics, providing outpatient services, and offering ad-hoc support for inpatients as required.
  • Supporting physiologist-led carpal tunnel clinics, including providing training and guidance to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Reporting on EEG examinations for both adult and pediatric patients, ensuring accurate interpretation and timely reporting of findings.
  • Collaborating with consultants and clinical physiologists to maintain high standards of care and service delivery within the Neurophysiology Department.
  • Contributing to the development and expansion of neurophysiology services, including participating in service improvement initiatives and introducing new procedures or protocols as appropriate.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development activities, including attending relevant training courses, conferences, and seminars to enhance your knowledge and skills in neurophysiology.
  • Adhering to trust policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior staff members, fostering a culture of learning and development within the department.

  • MRCP (UK) or On the Specialist Register in Neurophysiology (or within 3 months of date of interview)
