Are you wanting to lead, develop and support a team in a busy Hip and femur Fracture ward environment?

Do you want to gain experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics?

If so, we are looking for a self-motivated individual to work with us to continue to develop our Hip Fracture Unit (Ward 25).

Ward 25 is a 21 bedded Hip and femur Fracture Trauma Ward, caring for complex patients. It is a busy and rewarding environment to work in. Supported by the Matron and Ward Manager, Ward Sisters and Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Health Care Assistants and Ward administration support, you will be fully supported in your exciting role.

The successful applicant will be involved in delivering an efficient, quality service that meets the needs of all clients with fragility femur fractures, spanning across two main specialities of orthopaedic surgery and orthogeriatric medicine The role requires you to be flexible, resilient and forward thinking, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Great ward sisters and charge nurses have a strong sense of ownership of their wards and thrive on being in charge. You will be an honest person who is straightforward and has high standards. You will thrive on the busy nature of our ward and you will enjoy keeping things going when it gets tough.

This post requires skills including having the right strengths and being a positive motivator. You will work with a team of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and Older Persons Medicine Consultants, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Hip Fracture Specialist Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Dieticians working together to enhance patient care and experience.

  • Recognisable teaching qualification
