Band 7 Macmillan Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner SACT
**Full Time / Part Time**
The Berkshire Cancer Centre is seeking to recruit a SACT trainee ANP (tANP) to join their developing ANP team.
The tANP will be a skilled and experienced SACT qualified nurse who will work towards being responsible for the delivery of patient-focused programmes of care.
Whilst in training, the tANP will undertake an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and under the supervision of the Nurse Consultant and qualified ANPs, will develop their clinical knowledge and clinical decision-making skills in all aspects of oncology care.
Main duties of the job
The tANP will support the SACT nursing team to deliver treatments on the day units, by providing clinical expertise and support.
You will be responsible for assessing fitness for treatment and formulating management plans for patients - you will also work as part of the non-medical prescribing team in the oral SACT clinics.
The successful applicant will also play an integral role in the strategic development of SACT services including supporting the expansion of the non-medical prescribing clinics and oncology triage services. You will work in partnership with nursing and medical staff, have soundclinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in all aspects of oncology care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (NMC)
- First Level degree (HEI Level 6) or Equivalent, in undergraduate base profession
- Care of the patient receiving SACT or equivalent (SACT passport)
Desirable
- Certificate in Advanced Communications
- Mentoring, Facilitating Workplace Learning or Clinical Supervision Qualification
Experience
Essential
- Significant experience and expertise within SACT and Oncology (Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience / minimum of 3 years within SACT)
- Proven evidence of management ability and leadership
Desirable
- Experience of change management
- Demonstrable evidence of research capability, or the application of research evidence to own clinical practice
