We have an exciting opportunity for aOccupational Therapist atHMP Isle of Wightto join ourteam.HMP Isle of Wights present role is a category B male training prison.Located on a small island, HMP Isle of Wight is located 8 minutes from St Marys Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal.
Currently our core hours of operation are 07:30 -17:30
This position is parttime 18.5hours a week andyoull receive an annual salary up to 44,992per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
This role brings a great opportunity to embrace change and embed culture. The role of Occupational Therapist will be an experience like no other, requiring a diverse and mixed Occupational Therapy background.
The role involves assessing, planning, and delivering care and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex and/or unstable health care needs. Reviewing care and therapy interventions will be a key aspect of the role.

Youcan expect to be involved in all aspects of the care planning approach for clients within your caseload. Multi-partner working is essential so the right level of communication and team working skills are essential as well as excellent record keeping skills to ensure that you maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.

With a diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with the HCPC, you will need to be empathetic and willing to learn and develop your skills. Experienced in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll be able to manage your caseload and apply an application of OT theory in the treatment of patients in an inpatient setting. An understanding of common medical, surgical and neurological conditions is also required.
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
