Job summary

We are looking for a new Trustee or Associate Trustee who shares a passion to serve our community and who can help us ensure that we are able to deliver our services today, tomorrow and always. This is a voluntary role, and you will work with the Board, Chief Executive and the Strategic Management Team to ensure that we continue to deliver our much-needed services. Even in the current challenging |environment we have continued to operate for the benefit of those in the community who need our support.

We are particularly interested to hear from people with significant care experience.

We would also value applications from individuals who have good community links in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.

Main duties of the job

Essential Criteria:

  • Recent, relevant and varied care / healthcare experience in a senior Nursing or Social Care role
  • Experience in the development of integrated care of the implementation of healthcare
Our new Trustee or Associate Trustee should be able to demonstrate appropriate professional skills to provide oversight of the activities of the Hospice and offer challenge and support to the Strategic Management Team. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an empathy with Hospice philosophy is essential.

Successful applicants will have an induction and will start as an Associate Trustee for a six-month period. After the initial six-month period, for those candidates who do not want the full commitment that being a Trustee brings, will have the option to continue in their Associate Trustee role which would include attending four Care committee meetings a year, and the option to attend full board meetings, however, with no voting rights.

Candidates who would like to become a full Trustee after the initial six-month period as an Associate Trustee would join the board as a voting member and attend four board meetings per annum as well as a Trustee meet the team walkaround once a year.

Trustees are encouraged to attend fundraising events throughout the year. In return you will be able to share your experience and expertise in driving forward a progressive charity and make a real contribution.
