We are looking for a Band 6 midwife to be involved with clinical audit and to support assurance for the clinical service unit. You will be willing to learn about and undertake clinical audit and take a proactive approach to reviewing and tracking guidelines, standard operating procedures, NICE Guidance and other elements that are required to provide assurance for the Women's' CSU.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to undertake audit and assist with ensuring guidelines remain in date, are in line with best practice and support authors where appropriate, helping to maintain accurate, up to date records off all maternity and gynecology guidelines. Close communication will be required with the governance support officer.

You will analyse information found and produce audit reports along with action plans.

You will facilitate the clinical audit plan incorporating local and national audit requirements that support clinical effectiveness and provide written and verbal reports and presentations of completed audit projects to the relevant multi-professional groups.

You will help with multi-disciplinary clinical audit and ensure it is embedded at ward level, liaising with departmental managers on clinical issues related to practice.

You will attend and participate in Women's CSU meetings as appropriate

You will also be supported and exposed to all aspects of Quality, Safety and Governance under the direction and support of the Specialist Midwife for Quality & Safety, placing women, families and staff at the heart of all you do.
