Job summary

We are looking for a Children's Occupational Therapy Assistant!

HIOWH NHS Foundation Trust's Integrated Children's Therapy service is for children aged 0 to19 who experience challenges with Physical disability, daily functional activities, eating and drinking skills, speech, language, and communication

This is a community service delivered in children's homes, pre-school settings, Children's Centres, mainstream schools, special schools, and community clinics

Physiotherapists, podiatry, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists work together with children and their families as part of multi agency teams with Health Care professionals across acute and community services, Education, social care colleagues and Equipment providers, to enable children achieve their therapy goals

The North Mid Hampshire Therapy Team is based out of offices in Andover, Winchester, Basingstoke and Aldershot. As this is a community based role, regular travel across the locality is expected to support children and families in a range of settings. We recognise the importance of maintaining a reasonable travel commitment and will aim to keep journeys proportionate and practical wherever possible
Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to become part of our friendly and supportive Integrated Children's Therapy Service. Working with children and young people across schools, nurseries, homes and community settings, you will support Occupational Therapists in delivering therapeutic interventions that make a meaningful difference to daily life. The role includes implementing therapy programmes, ordering and setting up equipment, contributing to service development initiatives and collaborating closely with families, education staff and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
