Job summary

Do you want to experience of working in a tertiary referral hospital delivering core and sub-speciality Orthoptic practice?

Do you want to work in a supportive team with nationally recognised experts in their field?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Orthoptist to join our expanding team as an Advanced Orthoptist and also support our new community service at Ealing Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The role will be based at Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road) and Ealing Hospital (minimum one day per week). The successful candidate will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team across a range of sub-speciality clinics including botulinum toxin, motility, paediatric, adnexal, neurology and orthoptic-optometric led services.

The candidate will be expected to work autonomously in new patient clinics and be experienced to be able to be able to make appropriate onward referrals.

Be responsible as an independent practitioner for the planning, implementation and monitoring of orthoptic treatment

Be responsible for re-referral to specialist services if indicated

Collaborate and actively participate in supporting observers, health care professional and Orthoptic students attending clinical placement

Support newly qualified Orthoptists
