Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiology Administration Team.

We are looking to appoint a Cardiology Consultant Personal Assistant (PA) to join our busy, friendly and supportive team, working 34 hours per week.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-organised and proactive individual to provide high-quality administrative and operational support to Consultant Cardiologists within a fast-paced and dynamic service.

This is a key role, essential to the smooth running of cardiology clinics and services. You will support patient pathways and act as a central point of contact for consultants, multidisciplinary teams, patients and external stakeholders, ensuring an efficient and professional service is delivered at all times.

Interview: 10th September

Main duties of the job

  • Type clinic and additional correspondence to GPs, patients and other allied health professionals in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide a fast and accurate audio-typing service using Trust-approved systems, including Amplify
  • Cover for other Consultant PAs and medical secretaries during periods of absence to ensure service continuity
  • Manage consultant email inboxes and take appropriate action on correspondence where required
  • Relieve consultants of non-clinical administrative duties wherever possible
  • Organise meetings, prepare agendas and take accurate minutes as required
  • Provide line management to a team of medical secretaries/administrative staff, offering professional leadership, supervision and motivation to deliver a high-quality service
  • Ensure Trust values are upheld and demonstrated on a daily basis, treating all patients with dignity and respect and maintaining a consistently high standard of service delivery
