Spire Claremont Hospital have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pre Assessment team on a full time, permanent basis.

Spire Claremont Hospital has provided first-class independent healthcare at the heart of the South Yorkshire community since 1953. Our hospital is situated among beautifully landscaped grounds in Crosspool, Sheffield and it is situated 3 miles (about 20 minutes) to the south west of Sheffield city centre.

We offer a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a dedicated Endoscopy Suite; and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. Specialities include Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Spinal surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology.

Main duties of the job

Conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments Triaging and assessing patients to ensure suitability for surgery Identifying and escalating potential clinical concerns Supporting safe, personalised patient care throughout the surgical pathway Providing clear information and reassurance to patients and families Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice
  • Previous experience within a Pre-Assessment setting
  • Acute healthcare experience
  • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good IT and electronic patient record skills
  • Phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG competency
  • Pre-Operative Assessment Association qualification or training
