Job summary

Project Support Officer

As a member of the Capital Projects Team, the Project Support Officer will provide support andmanagement on the delivery of major strategic projects. The post holder will draw on theirexperience to support the Capital Programme Manager with ensuring that a standard projectmanagement approach methodology is built into all aspects of the programme.The Project Support Officer will be a first port of call for many of the varied workstreams within theprogramme and will need to hold the reins on the programme plans and keep the team on track.They will provide the necessary support to the Capital Projects Team ensuring all projects aredelivered in a professional manner, in accordance with agreed programme approaches, to quality,time and within budget.They will also manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally as appropriate, acting as theliaison for the varied capital programme at any given time, ensuring forward planning of projects likely toaffect operations across the trust.The post-holder is responsible for providing support to the teams for admin, planning, co-ordination,project management, finances, procurement and evaluation. It is expected that the specific programmethe post holder works on within this broad area will change over time as the portfolio of work changes

Main duties of the job

To support the Capital Projects Team with respective project support duties,

including but not limited to:

o Preparation and maintenance of Configuration Management for all schemes

within the Capital Programme on Microsoft Teams including all appropriate

documentation, drawings, quotes, project plans etc. in order that all

information is readily available and stored logically

o To ensure that the established internal and external project reporting structures are

adhered to, using agreed processes for the works.

o Recognise that the level of governance will depend on the size and scope of each

project

o To ensure a consistent approach to project scoping documentation and specifications

are applied across each project

o To support the implementation of processes that will support the management of the

capital budget, such as requests for schemes from the wider organisation

o To ensure all projects and works are documented utilising the agreed project

management tools, including the developing, maintaining and updating

project specific records

o To maintain a thorough understanding of all elements of the projects to ensure an

effective and informed first point of contact to all internal and external stakeholders.

o To support Capital Project Managers on project management best practice

methodologies including PRINCE2.

o To provide administrative support to team meetings and project managers,

including workshops and project meetings
