Qualifications

Essential

• Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
• HCPC registered

Desirable

• Member of Charted Society of Physiotherapy or similar

Experience

Essential

• oAppropriate experience as a student or qualified physiotherapist.
• oStudent placements or experience in a range of core areas.
• oEvidence of community and inpatient working.
• oExperience of working with patients who have fallen and in the care of older adults.
• oExperience of working as part of a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team.
• oDemonstrate awareness of the roles of others in providing patient care and ability to work as an effective team member.
• oEvidence of relevant CPD. oAn understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
• oUnderstanding of professional conduct and confidentiality.

Desirable

• oExperience of working with/supervising junior / support staff.
• oExperience of NHS working
• oExperience of working within a respiratory service.

Knowledge

Essential

• oAwareness of relevant clinical guidelines and legislation and their application in practice e.g. Older Adults, Falls and Respiratory.
• oDemonstrate clinical knowledge of a broad range of diagnoses and conditions in line with areas of the post.
• oDemonstrable knowledge HCPC standard of practice and of professional registration requirements.
• oUnderstanding of information governance and of the processes for sharing patient information across agencies.
• oUnderstanding of the issues pertaining to clinical risk management, and ability for formulate plans to reduce risk.
• oBasic computer skills.
• oWell developed theoretical knowledge underpinning physiotherapy practice.
• oGood written and oral communication skills
