We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Support Worker (Theatres) to join our multidisciplinary team at Practice Plus Group Portsmouth. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll support patients throughout their surgical journey while helping to ensure our theatre department runs safely, efficiently and compassionately. The role is primarily based within Theatres but may also support Outpatients, Endoscopy and Ward areas when required. This role is offering part-time hours 28.5 per week (3 x 9.5 hours shifts, Mon - Friday) on a rolling rota basis.

Main duties of the job
- Supporting patients before, during and after surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort, dignity and wellbeing at all times.
- Assisting with patient preparation, theatre set-up, equipment checks and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment.
- Handling and transporting clinical specimens, maintaining accurate documentation and following infection prevention procedures.
- Working closely with nursing, surgical and anaesthetic teams to help deliver excellent patient outcomes.
- Developing your skills through training and competency-based development opportunities.

- A caring, patient-focused approach with a commitment to dignity, confidentiality and high standards of care.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible and reliable attitude, with the willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training.
- Previous experience within a theatre, surgical or clinical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
