Job summary

This role is an essential part of the nursing leadership team focusing on attracting and retaining quality nursing staff to the Trust to meet our current and future workforce plans.

The post holder will support the Deputy Chief Nurse with the overview and coordinating functions for leading and developing the Trust approach to Nursing workforce/safer staffing in line with national and regulatory requirements.

The post holder will build upon their specialist knowledge and function as an expert within workforce development, effectively contributing to the Trust agenda.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will prepare nursing workforce reports for internal and external submissions.

The post holder will play a key leadership role in delivery of the nursing productivity work, providing scrutiny and challenge regarding use of temporary staffing and working with nursing and human resource colleagues to deliver agreed reduction targets

The postholder will work in collaboration with colleagues in the Health Roster team to ensure effective utilisation of the workforce deployment system's capacity and realisation of the associated benefits.

The role will work in collaboration with our partners and other professional networks to ensure best practice in nurse recruitment and retention is shared across the system.

  • oDemonstrate a successful track record of delivering effective nursing services as a senior nurse/manager, multifaceted healthcare environment including staff management, financial management and change management.
