Job summary
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding Bank Pharmacy Technician role and want to develop your skills in a new environment?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and focused Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our prison healthcare team in HMP Holme House.
As a Bank Pharmacy Technician, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who form part of the wider healthcare. You will be required to work bank holidays and weekends and the role is based on the house blocks.
You will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will include the administration and supply of medication to prisoners, medicines optimisation and providing advice to other colleagues and prisoners within your competency.

- BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
- Appropriate accredited technician checking qualification
Knowledge

- Knowledge of medicines optimisation issues
- Pharmacy legal requirements and controlled drug legislation

- Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems.
- Has a good understanding of security issues in relation to the prison environment
- Substance misuse knowledge
