At Dorothy House Hospice Care, our In-Patient Unit provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, focusing on symptom management, holistic care and helping people achieve the best possible quality of life. As a Registered Nurse within our hospice team, you'll deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care whilst working alongside a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

REGISTERED NURSE | Band 5 | £16.40 - £19.97 per hour

Part Time: working 22.5 hours per week (Shifts consisting of a mix of earlies, lates, and nights)

Location: Winsley, Wiltshire

  • WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

    As a Registered Nurse, you will work as part of our specialist In-Patient Unit team to provide outstanding palliative and end of life care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patients' physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs, developing individualised plans of care alongside patients and their families
  • Delivering and evaluating high-quality nursing care using evidence-based practice
  • Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care from admission through to discharge
  • Supporting patients and families through complex symptom management and end of life care planning
  • Providing professional advice and support through hospice services when required
  • Taking charge of the clinical environment when appropriate and supporting colleagues across the nursing team
  • Contributing to clinical audit, quality improvement, education and service development activities
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring care is delivered in line with professional standards and hospice policies
