Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Recovery Support Worker to join the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) within West London Forensic Services.

The SCFT supports service users with complex mental health needs as they transition from secure and rehabilitation inpatient services into the community. In this role, you will promote recovery, independence, and social inclusion, supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Peer Support Workers, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, you will help service users develop independent living skills, access education and employment opportunities, and engage in meaningful community activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills within forensic mental health services while contributing to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Please note: Due to the nature of the service user group and the requirements of the role, this post is open to male applicants only under the provisions of a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

As a Recovery Support Worker within the Specialist Community Forensic Team, you will support service users to achieve their recovery goals and successfully transition from inpatient services to community living.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver both one-to-one and group interventions, helping individuals develop independence, build confidence, and engage in meaningful activities such as education, employment, volunteering, and community groups.

You will contribute to assessments, care planning, and outcome monitoring, while working collaboratively with service users, carers, and partner agencies. The role also involves identifying changes in mental health and wellbeing, promoting recovery-focused practice, and supporting service development and quality improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about recovery, person-centred care, and making a positive difference in people's lives.
