Job summary

The Clinical Practice Educator (Maternity) will provide leadership in education, training and workforce development across maternity services, ensuring staff are equipped to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care. The postholder will combine educational leadership with a significant clinical presence, supporting staff development, service improvement and patient safety through both teaching and hands-on clinical practice.

Fixed term ending on the 4th July 2027.

Main duties of the job

Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training programmes for maternity staff.Support the professional development, competency achievement and career progression of midwives, student midwives and maternity support workers.Maintain a visible clinical presence, providing real-time support, coaching and leadership within maternity services.Facilitate simulation training, skills development, preceptorship and practice supervision activities.Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.Monitor training compliance and support organisational requirements relating to CNST, CQC, NMC and Trust standards.
