Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Skilled Electrician to join our Estates Team, providing electrical maintenance and support services across multiple sites throughout Hampshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of complex electrical systems and plant equipment who is looking to develop their skills within a rewarding healthcare environment. As a key member of the Estates Team, you will help ensure our facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational for staff and service users. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of electrical safety and reliability across our mental health and community healthcare services.

The successful candidate will be proactive, flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills and a good understanding of health and safety legislation are essential.

Main duties of the job

Key activities/responsibilities will be to carry out and/or oversee the repair/maintenance/installation of complex plant and equipment.

This will involve a multi-skilled approach as well as the full range of duties associated with the post holder's primary trade as an Electrician.

This will include planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works across varying systems, acting as an Authorised Person (AP) in LV Electrical to include the issuing of permits to work, carrying out electrical shutdowns in a compliant and recorded manner to assist with Maintenance works or larger Capital Project works.

  • An electrical background with an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification in an appropriate electrically biased engineering discipline
  • BS7671 (Current Edition) of IET Wiring Regulations
  • Able to fault-find diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Driving License.
