Job summary
We are delighted to advertise this exciting post for a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist in the Hertfordshire MHST. This is a part time (0.6 WTE) post based in the Hertfordshire area with some opportunities for remote working. The ability to travel independently between different MHST base locations to fulfil the requirements of the post is essential.
We have an exciting opportunity for a flexible, motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist with the genuine passion and skills to support both children and young people, parent/carers and the wider workforce.
This role will provide clinical leadership and oversight within the MHST, including service development, improvement and quality evaluation whilst building outstanding supportive and responsive relationships with colleagues across the Hertfordshire system.
The role will include supporting school engagement, staff recruitment and retention, monitoring clinical outcomes and data, and supporting participation.
The Team Clinical Lead will be responsible for the systematic provision of a highly specialist clinical / counselling psychology service to clients of the MHST multi-disciplinary team, as well as contributing to the provision of evidence-based therapeutic intervention across the MHST service (for example CBT and systemic practice).
Main duties of the job
To oversee the formulation and treatment and management plans for schools, parents, children, and young people being supported by the MHST - using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service, both individual and group.
To support MHST clinical supervisors and team leaders in their task of overseeing the formulation, treatment and management plans for schools, parents, children, and young people being supported by the MHST practitioners using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service; individual and group.
To provide clinical/professional supervision to less experienced practitioner psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists, and non-psychologist colleagues within the MHST.
To provide placements to trainee clinical/counselling psychologists.
As a senior leader working in partnership with schools and school leaders, supporting children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
Work in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.
To support and empower children, young people, and families to make informed choices about the intervention.
