Job summary
The Ward Clerk provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of a hospital ward. The post holder acts as the first point of contact for patients, relatives and healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records, supporting patient flow, and facilitating effective communication across the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
- Act as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for patients, relatives, visitors and health care professionals, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
- Work as an integral member of the ward team, providing an efficient and professional clerical and administrative service in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and standards
- Maintain and manage patient records accurately and confidentially, ensuring all documentation is completed and filed in accordance with Trust and Information Governance requirements.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in managing changing priorities and workloads, responding promptly to requests for patient records and administrative support.
