Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the patient administration team within the Head & Neck Clinical Services Unit! Are you a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work within strict deadlines? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive, motivated and passionate individual to join the Head and Neck Clinical Service Unit working as an Assistant Patient Services Coordinator, based at the LGI. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to further their career development and to gain experience in a large and diverse department. This post is a full time post, 37.5 hours per week, and is for 12 months fixed term to cover a secondment. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team within the Head and Neck CSU. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, and who is a strong team player and hope the successful candidate will find this a challenging and interesting role.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant PSC will provide a high quality service in line with Trust standards and be able to communicate sensitivity and effectively with a wide range of people including medical staff, patients and colleagues. Support the Patient Services Co-ordinator and the Business Manager in delivering the services for the speciality. Please see Job Description for further information.

  • Work with Consultants and their medical teams
  • Scheduling of patients
  • Deal with patient enquiries.
  • Play a key role in ensuring that patients move systematically through their pathways by ensuring that the next steps are in the pipeline.
  • Working with various stakeholders, admin staff, clinicians, nursing teams etc
