Job summary
Are you looking for a new challenge in your clinical career or would you like a development opportunity as the Clinical Education and Competencies Manager within the Education Department as an exciting opportunity has become available.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Education Department for 15 hours a week to support the development of our clinical workforce within Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
As the Clinical Education and Competencies Manager you will have management responsibility for the delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activity, training programmes, continuing professional development activity and skills training for the clinical workforce, ensuring appropriate development and competency support for Trust colleagues in line with regulatory requirements.
Main duties of the job
In addition to the management responsibility of the clinical education remit, The Clinical Education and Competencies Manager also supports a broad range of training programmes and complex educational activities, including identification of training opportunities, training the trainers and co-ordination of projects to assess and/or improve clinical education.
This role also supports preparation to work across the services.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties:
- Management of Clinical Education and Training provision across the organisation; this includes includes the planning, delivery and evaluation of professional education and training activities, training programmes, continuing professional development, induction and skills training for the clinical workforce.
- Provide specialist knowledge and advice and guidance for assurance and delivery of clinical and training programmes, and oversight of competency reporting.
- Work with the Nursing Education Lead, clinical tutors, speciality leads, external trainers and library services to monitor, evaluate and develop high quality, evidence based clinical education.
- Implement and monitor all relevant legislation and policies and/or procedures as identified by the organisation into the appropriate training and development programmes.
- Ensuring the delivery and appropriate development of quality assured, competency based clinical development programmes and assessment.
- Manage clinical development programmes, ensuring full engagement with all the relevant divisions, identifying the clinical competence that is required to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Ensure data collection and reporting processes are in place for quality assurance and governance.
