We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Finance Analyst to join our Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong analytical and Excel skills to play a key role in supporting financial reporting, data analysis, income validation and reconciliation activities across the Trust.
The post holder will work with large and complex financial, workforce and operational datasets, ensuring information is accurate, reliable and presented in a meaningful way to support decision-making. You will contribute to the production of financial reports, contract income schedules and forecasting information that support the effective delivery of healthcare services.
Working closely with Finance Managers, Business Partners and operational colleagues, you will investigate variances, undertake reconciliations, support reporting automation and identify opportunities to improve processes and data quality.
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, advanced Excel skills and the ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience of data manipulation, reporting and analysis is essential, and NHS finance experience would be advantageous.
In return, we offer a supportive team environment, flexible working opportunities, professional development and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, validating and reconciling financial, workforce and operational information to support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting. This includes extracting data from multiple systems, maintaining audit trails and ensuring information used for decision making is complete and reliable.
You will prepare routine and ad-hoc reports, undertake detailed reconciliations, investigate variances and support month end and year end financial processes. The role includes validating contract income information, reconciling data between systems and supporting responses to audit and information requests.
The post holder will analyse large and complex datasets, prepare information to support planning, forecasting and efficiency programmes, and present findings in a clear and meaningful format for both finance and non-finance colleagues.
You will contribute to the development of reporting tools, reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to improve data quality, reporting efficiency and financial controls across the organisation.
We are looking for an individual with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, strong attention to detail and advanced Excel skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is essential.
