Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join the Operational Finance Team on a 3-month fixed-term basis. The post offers flexible working arrangements and is anticipated to average around 2 days per week.
Due to the nature of finance reporting timetables, additional hours may be required during peak periods, particularly around month-end, with fewer hours required during quieter periods. The exact working pattern will be agreed in line with needs of the department.
Main duties of the job
You will provide direct support to a Business Support Accountant and play a key role in ensuring work completed is in line with our trusts Standing Financial Instructions, standing orders and national accounting standards.

- A detailed understanding of accounting procedures gained from a Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in an accounting based qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians/Degree Level/T Level etc.)
- Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
Desirable
- Drive to develop and continue professional accountancy studies
Experience

- Relevant practical experience of working in a finance department
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of NHS Finance regime
