Job summary
This post is for a Locum Consultant in Plastic Surgery with a Skin Cancer and Head & Neck Oncology surgery interest (12 months FTC).
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Surgeon join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary care within the Mersey Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery unit based at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a whole-time post with a weekly peripheral site clinical commitment.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will have a responsibility for the running of their clinical service, integrating this with the department as a whole and ensuring appropriate communication with general practitioners, managers, and hospital committees. The appointee will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of relevant aspects if the Trusts contractual obligations and business plans.
The appointee will be expected to ensure their clinical service is in accordance with the principles of Clinical Governance which must include appropriate clinical audit, clinical targets, key performance indicators (KPI's), evidence-based practice, continued personal educational and professional development.The post holder will also be expected to comply with existing appraisal procedures, job planning and revalidation procedures.

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
