Job summary

The Preceptorship and Clinical Supervision Manager

will ensure that the clinical workforce have access to the appropriate development and supervision support in line with regulatory requirements.

The post holder will ensure that all clinical staff have access to a clinical induction, preceptorship programme and clinical supervision.

The post holder will work in partnership with the clinical divisions to develop clinical staff that require additional support to improve and develop their clinical practice.

The post holder will also support with preparation to role work across the service, providing support with career events, interview preparation and application support where appropriate

Main duties of the job

1. Manage the clinical induction process ensuring that all divisions have the appropriate support required to develop and maintain a local clinical induction.

2. Develop manage and eva evaluate the Trust Preceptorship programme, ensuring an evidence-based preceptorship document is in place. Ensure a robust database is developed and maintained that identifies all preceptees progress and completion information as appropriate.

3. Develop, manage and evaluate the Trust Preceptorship programme, ensuring an evidence-based preceptorship document is in place. Ensure a robust database is developed and maintained that identifies all preceptees progress and completion information as appropriate.

4. Develo and maintain the Preceptorship policy, ensuring that all newly registered clinicians have access to and complete the programme and are supported in line with the policy.

6. Manage the Clinical Supervision process ensuring that all divisions have the appropriate support required to develop and maintain Clinical Supervision.

Develop, implement and evaluate evidence based Clinical Supervision training ensuring that all Clinical Team Leaders, supervisors and supervisees have access to and receive the appropriate training as required. 11. Support development and implementation of relevant induction programmes in collaboration with clinical divisions and alongside the Clinical Education & Competencies Manager. 12. Provide the Head of Education with the relevant reports as requested in relation to designated areas of responsibilities, ensuring analysed data is meaningful and translated appropriately. 13. Represent the department and/or organisation at relevant meetings ensuring appropriate preparation, participation, and feedback. 14. Work in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and/or Healthcare Professions Council codes of professional conduct at all times ensuring registration is kept up to date. 15. In line with the Trusts being a major provider in Community and Primary care services, the post holder will be expected to support future developments and take responsibility for workstream functions within any future service developments. Management and Leadership Responsibilities 16. Develop and empower all members of your team to perform to high standards and innovate. 17. Ensure supportive staff management arrangements are in place and carry out appraisals/personal development reviews (PDRs) for direct reports. Ensure all staff in your team/s have annual PDRs resulting in specific objectives and effective personal development plans. 18. Develop staff knowledge and skills to promote equality and diversity and address inequalities both in employment and service delivery. Ensure specific equality objective are included in PDRs. 19.
