Job summary
We are looking for a friendly, approachable and flexible person to join our centralised reception team, working on a rotational basis across outpatient reception areas within the Surgical Division. This is a busy and varied role and you'll be an important first point of contact for patients attending clinic. You'll welcome and assist patients, respond to telephone enquiries, support outpatient bookings and help provide a positive experience throughout their visit. You'll also prepare patient notes, update records following appointments and support the smooth running of clinics. Accurate bookings, information and clinic arrangements are essential to helping patients move smoothly through their care pathway. We're looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills who enjoys working with the public and can remain calm and organised in a busy environment. Previous receptionist or customer-facing experience is essential; healthcare experience is desirable. Flexibility is important as you'll work across different reception areas to meet service needs. Main duties of the job
The staff in this role will work on a rotational basis, being responsible for working on a busy reception desk, receiving patients as they arrive in clinic, dealing with telephone enquiries and managing outpatient bookings. In addition they will form part of the team responsible for preparing case notes and clinic lists to ensure the smooth running of clinics.
