Job summary
Safeguarding Adults Occupational Therapist Join Oxfordshire County Council and help us deliver adult social care differently. As part of our Safeguarding Adults Team, you will play a key role in protecting adults at risk by triaging safeguarding concerns and undertaking safeguarding enquiries relating to care providers across Oxfordshire. Using a strengths-based approach, you will work collaboratively with individuals, families, health professionals, care providers and community organisations to promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes. You will assess risk, apply relevant legislation and professional practice standards, and help ensure safeguarding concerns are managed effectively and proportionately. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist who is committed to improving lives and supporting people to remain as independent as possible. You will be adaptable, compassionate and an effective communicator, with a strong understanding of safeguarding, professional practice and person-centred support. HCPC registration and a commitment to RCOT professional standards are essential. Main duties of the job
Role Summary As an Occupational Therapist within Oxfordshire County Council's Safeguarding Adults Team, you will help protect adults at risk by assessing safeguarding concerns, managing risk and undertaking safeguarding enquiries relating to care providers. Working collaboratively with individuals, families, health colleagues and partner organisations, you will use a strengths-based approach to promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes while ensuring statutory safeguarding responsibilities are met. About the role and teamThe Safeguarding Adults Team operates across Oxfordshire and is responsible for triaging all safeguarding concerns received by Adult Social Care. The team also has responsibility for undertaking safeguarding enquiries where the concerns relate to care providers, ensuring that risks are appropriately assessed and addressed in line with statutory safeguarding duties.
We are looking for candidates with a genuine passion for working with people.You will use a strength-based approach to create opportunities and build resilience so that people live their lives as independently as possible. We work with a wide range of individuals and the ability to adapt and adjust your approach will be a key skill.
You will receive supervision, support and training opportunities to ensure you have the skills required. We actively encourage opportunities to enhance your skills so opportunities for job swaps, rotation or secondments are available and we will create and review a personal development plan with you.You should have the ability to travel to and access a variety of premises across Oxfordshire. The teams work across the County and staff are expected to work agilely utilising offices bases and working from home.
