Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Haematopathology (10PAs).
Interviews for this post will be held in person on 03 December 2026 at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Hills Road Cambridge, CB2 0QQ. Specific department and venue details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining a team of three full-time equivalent Consultant Haematopathologists, five Consultant diagnostic Haematologists and a Consultant Clinical Scientist, allowing the provision of a consultant-led service with sub-specialty responsibility and clinical leadership. The HODS Consultants contribute to seven regional or local MDTs through digital video-conferencing facilities. The routine working day is from 9am-5.30pm on 5 days per week. A member of the Consultant team is available 24 hours a day for discussion of urgent cases and a member of the laboratory team is on call at weekends for urgent flow cytometry requests.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Histopathology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
