Care Fertility Northampton is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Clinical Scientist to join our embryology team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading fertility providers, contributing to the delivery of high-quality laboratory services and exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the embryology laboratory, undertaking advanced embryology procedures, supporting quality and governance activities, and contributing to service development and innovation.

Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will also support the development of colleagues through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • Perform advanced clinical embryology procedures in accordance with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Undertake and maintain competence in core embryology techniques, including ICSI.
  • Participate in laboratory quality management, governance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute to service development, innovation and research initiatives where appropriate.
  • Support the training, supervision and development of junior colleagues and trainees.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Participate in weekend, bank holiday and on-call rotas as required.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing and laboratory colleagues to deliver outstanding patient-centred care.
