Job summary

We are very proud of the high level of care we provide to our patients which is reflected in our patient feedback. We are looking to appoint a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker who is caring, enthusiastic and motivated to join team ward 20 Surgery and Medical Day case unit.

The successful applicant will support our qualified staff with the delivery of care to our wide range of patients.

The successful applicant will be expected to work variable shifts. We staff to be flexible within the shifts they work to help the team enhance the care we provide.

Main duties of the job

To undertake a range of duties including direct care working in support of and supervised by a trained nurse.

At all times treat patients, service users, families, visitors and colleagues with dignity and respect, delivering compassionate care. Exercising discretion and behaving in a manner consistent with Airedale NHS Trust Right Care Values Maintain confidentiality

Work in line within Trust Policies

Assist in the ordering and serving meals

Keeping the ward clean and tidy

Undertake tasks appropriate to the clinical environment with necessary training and as directed by the ward sister or department lead

Trolleys made and changed in a timely manner

Report any incidents, complaints , concerns to the Nurse in Charge

Attend and participate in ward meetings

Recognise and Respond to emergency and urgent situations
