Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a compassionate and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive General Practice team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care They will providehigh-quality core general practice nursing services and will be ready to work autonomously as part of the wider General Practice team. The role does not require independent prescribing, advanced nurse practitioner qualifications or routine minor illness management.
The successful candidate will have an important role in supporting the safe, effective and well-organised delivery of nursing services across the practice. This will include routine nursing clinics, cervical screening, childhood immunisations, adult and seasonal vaccinations, travel vaccinations, wound care, injections, health checks, phlebotomy where appropriate and supporting long-term condition reviews within competency.
Main duties of the job
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs

Providing travel health advice and travel vaccinations in line with training, competency and appropriate PGDs or PSDs.

Administering hormonal or oncology-related injections where directed by secondary care and where appropriate training, governance and authorisation are in place.
Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations

Overview of your organisation
We are a large practice in Kings Langley with a branch surgery in the village of Bovingdon.
We serve a practice population of 15,500 patients in & around our 2 sites.
We have 6 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, a nursing team & additional health professionals in a variety of roles inc. Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physicians (musculoskeletal practitioners), Health & Wellbeing coach, Mental health Nurse, also work alongside us in our practices.
We have a large administrative team that are based at Kings Langley. You will work within our existing reception team - everyone is very friendly and supportive .
Your main role will be at either Kings Langley, our Bovingdon branch surgery, or potentially a mix of both so your own transport is essential.

The postholder will:

- Help ensure appropriate coding and documentation of nursing activity

- Support the identification of patients requiring follow-up or escalation
- Refer or signpost patients to other members of the multidisciplinary team, community services, statutory services or voluntary organisations where appropriate.
