Pharmacy Assistant - Aseptic Services
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC) provides excellent cancer care to patients in the Northwest (including North Wales and the Isle of Man). We have 3 site locations: the central Liverpool site and hub sites in the Wirral and Aintree. Inpatient services, including 2 wards, bone marrow transplant service and the regional Teenage and Young Adult unit (supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust) are located at our Liverpool site.
It is an exciting time for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, as we expand our capacity in the aseptic pharmacy suite at CCCL. This has provided an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Pharmacy Assistant which is an important position within our large, diverse and friendly pharmacy team.
Working pattern will be 37.5 hours per week, 8am-6pm over 4 days per week (Monday - Friday with an allocated day off. Weekend and Bank Holiday work are required on a rotational basis)
Main duties of the job
In this role, we require a pass in GCSE English, Maths and a Science or equivalent. We will enrol you onto the NVQ 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent to progress you further in the role.
In summary, you will:
- Assemble and check all raw materials to be sent into designated clean rooms following standard operating procedures and trust guidelines.
- Maintain asepsis in the clean room environment through good working practices.
- Participate in volume checking of colleagues within the sterile chemotherapy unit.
- Support ordering, receiving, rota and maintain all stocks within the department.
Compile documentation for quality control and quality assurance to adhere to licensing requirements of the department and within the trust
