Laurel Bank Surgery is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to provide high quality, professional HR support across our three-site GP practice. This internal role is central to ensuring our workforce is appropriately recruited, supported, developed and gainfully employed, enabling the delivery of safe, effective and well led patient care.

You will act as the first point of contact for HR matters, support managers with employee relations, oversee recruitment and compliance, and contribute to wellbeing, culture and staff engagement initiatives.

We are looking for someone who combines technical HR expertise with empathy and sensitivity. You will work closely with the Managing Partner and leadership team to ensure our HR processes are fair, compliant and aligned with NHS and CQC expectations.

This role is ideal for a confident HR generalist who will enjoy autonomy, variety and meaningful work in a patient centred environment.

The HR Advisor provides first-line support across all people matters, advising managers on employee relations, coordinating recruitment and onboarding, maintaining workforce and compliance records, preparing payroll changes and employment documentation, and managing sickness and attendance processes. The role also supports flexible working requests, organisational change, policy updates, wellbeing initiatives and staff development, while ensuring HR systems, data and communications remain accurate, confidential and aligned with legal, NHS and CQC requirements.
