Job summary

Warrengate is a busy, high achieving friendly training Practice with an excellent reputation situated in the centre of Wakefield close to transport links and local amenities. The Practice list size currently stands at approximately 11,500 patients.

We are looking for an experienced part time Practice Nurse, working 21 hours per week over 3 days (working days to be confirmed) for 6 months Maternity cover who has good communication and organisational skills to join our existing friendly and supportive healthcare team.

We would welcome applications from experienced Nurses who have knowledge of :

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to work independently and efficiently to deliver a high quality of care to our patients. You will have the support and guidance of our excellent team of Practice Nurses and Advance Nurse Practitioners.

Previous Primary Care experience, experience in long term conditions management, relevant qualifications, experience of the SystmOne clinical system and ICE are desirable for this role.

Management of LTCs - Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, COPD

Support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs and those presenting for cervical cytology consultations

Travel advice and vaccinations

Peak Flow Readings and Spirometry

Wound care, ulcer care and Doppler assessment

Removal of Sutures

New Patient Medicals and Urinalysis
