Job summary

North London Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our Inpatient Unit team. Working alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals, you will provide high-quality, person-centred palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. You will support patients with their personal care, comfort, dignity and wellbeing, while helping to ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering the best possible end of life care.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support the delivery of holistic palliative care by assisting patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration, and activities of daily living. You will monitor and record observations, maintain accurate patient records, report changes in patients' conditions, and assist with clinical procedures as delegated. The role also involves contributing to pressure area care, infection prevention and control, patient transfers and discharges, and providing compassionate support to families and carers. You will work closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
