Job summary

Are you a newly qualified Physiotherapist looking to start your career in a supportive NHS environment? We are excited to offer three fixed-term Band 5 Physiotherapist posts (funded until 31 March 2027) within our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy Service at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

These roles provide an excellent opportunity to build your clinical skills, gain valuable MSK experience, and develop confidence managing your own caseload while receiving support from an experienced MSK team. Vacancies are available across North Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent and South Staffordshire (Tamworth & Lichfield, Stafford & Cannock).

You will work alongside Physiotherapists and Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, carrying out assessments, delivering evidence-based treatment programmes and supporting patients to achieve their goals. Whether you have a strong interest in MSK or are looking to build on your student placement experience, this role offers excellent exposure to outpatient physiotherapy practice.

We are committed to supporting your development through a structured induction, regular clinical supervision, mentorship and access to highly skilled clinicians.

We are looking for HCPC-registered Physiotherapists who are enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated to learn. Strong communication skills, a commitment to high-quality patient care and a positive team approach are essential.

Main duties of the job

You will join our friendly team as a Physiotherapist and will be expected to assess new service user referrals and care/support needs. Assess service users and formulate, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of treatment /care/support for individuals, families and carers. The treatment/care/support plans may include the following:o Promoting independence/self-management and maintaining safety.o Increased functional ability.o Improvement in health and wellbeing including mental health.o Interventions in disease/condition management.o Prevention and reducing of health inequalitieso Case management/ treatment/ care plans

As part of this role, you will be expected to:o Use professional knowledge and judgement taking into account the range of care/support packages and treatment options. To consider each service user's personal circumstances and preferences in order to implement and adjust individualised programmes of care and intervention.o Maintain and develop skills and knowledge to deliver a range of interventions and set an example of good practice to other team members including skill sharing.o Maintain sensitivity at all times to the emotional needs of the service user and their carers offering reassurance and empathy. This may be in regard to the nature/prognosis of their condition and implications of the same.o Use professional knowledge, skills and experience when working in changing environments and across professional boundaries.
