Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Great Homer Street Medical Centre for 3 sessions per week on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established GP training practice serving approximately 3,500 patients in North Liverpool. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse population experiencing significant socioeconomic deprivation, health inequalities and complex health and social care needs.

The role would suit a GP who values continuity of care, enjoys multidisciplinary working and is committed to improving health outcomes for patients within an underserved community.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide a full range of primary medical services in accordance with the NHS General Medical Services Contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Providing face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
  • Managing patients with complex needs and long-term conditions.
  • Prescribing safely and effectively in line with local and national guidance.
  • Promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web.
  • Participating in clinical governance, quality improvement and safeguarding activities.

The clinical team consists of one GP Partner, three GPs, supported by a multidisciplinary team including a Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, Clinical Pharmacists, Care Coordinators, Social Prescribers, First Contact Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Dietitian and Mental Health Practitioners.

We use EMIS Web as our clinical system and PACO Blinx as our patient communication and engagement platform. As a training practice, we are committed to learning, professional development and providing a supportive environment for both staff and patients, with a strong focus on teamwork, continuity of care and innovation.

Job Purpose
