Job summary

We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our busy clinical team for around 30 hours per week (negotiable) to include one evening per week (ideally a Tuesday), and one Saturday morning per month.

The salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Phlebotomist to work in our large, friendly GP Practice. Responsibilities include venepuncture and blood pressure monitoring.

About us

Didcot Health Centre is a well-established training practice of almost 20,000 patients. We operate from spacious, purpose-built premises on a single site close to the centre of town and just a few minutes' walk from Didcot Parkway. We have a wide clinical team comprising:

  • six GP partners and eight salaried GPs

  • two Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, both prescribers

  • a Diabetes Specialist Nurse

  • four Practice Nurses

  • one Nursing Associate

  • three Healthcare Assistants

Our clinical staff are well-supported by a large, committed team of 25 administrative staff.

In addition, we work closely with the two other member practices of the Didcot PCN, Oak Tree Health Centre and Woodlands Medical Practice, with whom we share a range of clinical staff including:

  • one Physician Assistant

  • two First Contact Physiotherapists (diagnostic physios)

  • two Mind counsellors

  • One specialist Children and Young People's Counsellor

  • two Pharmacists

  • two Pharmacy Technicians

  • four Social Prescribers (two each from Age UK Oxfordshire and SOFEA)

Also based at Didcot Health Centre are:

  • Didcot's District Nurses

  • Community Midwives

  • School Age Immunisation Service

Other community health and outreach services routinely held at Didcot Health Centre include:

  • AAA Screening

  • Diabetic Eye Screening

  • Newborn Hearing

  • Oxfordshire Talking Therapies

  • Oxfordshire Sexual Health Service, including a weekly under 18s walk-in clinic

  • Turning Point.

The post holder will maintain accurate patient records using EMIS, and ensure patient care is delivered safely, professionally, and in line with practice policies and clinical standards.

We are an EmisWeb practice, so a working knowledge of this software is preferred.
