Job summary

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you're looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it! We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.

Main duties of the job

The role is pivotal in leading and co-ordinating a high quality, safe, effective, and efficient service to meet the needs of the service user population, across the prison establishment. You will support the Senior Nurse/Head of Healthcare in the delivery of prison health care to ensure that service users receive high quality, evidence based, health services, which are the same range and quality as those provided by the NHS within the wider community. Prioritising health problems and intervening appropriately to assist patients in emergency, complex, or urgent situations, including commencement of emergency care. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
