Job summary

We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic HR Business Partnering Team at Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. We have a 9-month fixed-term post available due to additional support being required, with the potential for the role to become substantive.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced HR Advisor who will provide advice and support to managers and staff within their designated Directorate.

This is not a development role. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and confidently manage a busy and varied caseload from the outset. You will need to be able to provide sound and informed HR advice, ensuring that advice is in line with current legislation, Trust policies and procedures, while working with a degree of autonomy and responding confidently to often complex and sensitive employee relations matters.

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor who can confidently manage conflicting demands on their time, navigate tricky and often complex issues towards solutions, and do so in a caring, compassionate and professional way.

In terms of flexibility, the HR Business Partnering Team has a hybrid working model in place.

Due to the number of part-time workers already within the team, ideally we would prefer to recruit to this role on a full-time basis, working 9.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to manage a varied caseload and provide timely, confident and evidence-based advice across a broad range of HR matters, ensuring that advice is in line with current employment legislation, NHS terms and conditions and Trust policies and procedures.

This will include providing advice and hands-on support in relation to employee relations matters. You will work closely with managers to help them address issues appropriately, consistently and fairly, while recognising the operational needs of the service and maintaining a strong focus on employee experience.

Reducing sickness absence is a key priority for the Trust. You will play an active role in supporting managers to effectively manage attendance, including providing advice on individual cases, supporting appropriate interventions and ensuring that cases progress in line with Trust policy.

You will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy, confidently prioritising competing demands and escalating matters appropriately where there are increased risks or complexities.

Our team objective is to work in partnership with our clinical and corporate service colleagues and other stakeholders to provide a first-class HR service that delivers consistent, timely and high-quality advice and support, based on current legislation, NHS best practice and Trust policies and procedures.

About us

You will be joining a supportive, collaborative and experienced HR Business Partnering Team, working alongside colleagues who are committed to providing a high-quality HR service across the Trust.

We value teamwork, professional expertise and strong working relationships with our services. We share knowledge and support each other, while encouraging individuals to bring their own experience, judgement and ideas to the team.

This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to strengthen and develop our HR service and make a positive difference to the experience of our staff and the services we provide.
