Job summary

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to the individual needs of patients.
  • Develop, implement and review person-centred treatment plans, supporting patients to achieve meaningful goals and improve daily functioning.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to assessments, care planning, risk management and clinical decision-making.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to junior occupational therapists, students and other members of the therapy team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure all practice is delivered in line with professional standards, Priory policies and best practice guidelines.

Full Time/ 37.5 Hours

Priory Hospital Newbury, located Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community. We also provide an acute service, for local male and female patients who are in crisis and require a short admission for support.

We are well-placed to accept patients who need higher levels of care and intensive therapeutic support, as well as those stepping down in acuity.

  • Candidates must be HCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or a degree, honours degree, or Masters in Occupational Therapy, or have completed formal postgraduate study (award or non-award bearing). They must also have prior experience working in mental health services as a qualified member of staff, experience supervising Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, and training in relevant models of practice such as MoHO, VdTMoCA, and Sensory Integration.
