To work as a member of the Radiology team providing patient coordination and ensuring all Radiology appointments including fast track, obstetric and all other Radiology appointments for Bradford Royal Infirmary, St Lukes Hospital and the Eccleshill Diagnostic Centre are correctly booked to meet all KPI's including all patients on a fast track cancer pathway.

Actively participate in the provision of routine information and advice for patients and carers over the telephone and liaising with the appropriate teams. The post holder will improve patient experience by providing a friendly non clinical contact point for patients and their families.

Working with the Service Manager and the Administration Manager to provide leadership management, supervision, and development of an effective flexible administrative support team. In addition the post holder will have an important role in assisting the Business Support Manager and the Administration Manager as a focal point for communication for all staff within the admin/secretarial team. To supervise and delegate work to the admin staff, participate in Trust and local inductions for new starters, staff training, appraisals, approving annual leave and managing sickness.

Main duties of the job

Communicate with key departments to:

o ensure all tests and diagnostic investigations are booked promptly in line with the agreed pathway and are completed in a timely manner and any issues are escalated.

Where appropriate communicate regularly with patients to ensure that they are aware of upcoming appointments, diagnostic tests/investigations and operations and offer practical support with the arrangements.

    • Responsibility for ensuring the provision of effective and efficient administrative support to a multii-displinary team including the organisation of staff ensuring adequate staff absence cover across the service.
    • To co-ordinate/participate in the recruitment process as necessary, including job advert, short listing and interviewing prospective candidates as a member of the interview panel and liaising with HR with regards to the process.
    • Responsiblility for the completion and authorisation of annual leave and e-Roster for the administrative/secretarial team. Ensuring documentation is accurate and completed within the designated timescales.
    • Resposibility for the recording of staff absence in accordance with the Trust sickness absence policy. In addition, undertaking return to work interviews of the administrative/secretarial teams.
