We have an exciting part time opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. Ideally needs to be a car driver due to location of the prison
HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,100, and has a varied and complex population.
You will work as part of the healthcare team, based within the healthcare department and providing care across the prison wings. The Paramedic will involve leading shifts, line managing four nursing staff, allocating staff to shifts, and overseeing the delivery of unscheduled care.HMP Wymott Offers:
- Onsite parking
- Access to onsite gym
- Careers and development opportunities
Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 7:30am - 6pm
- 4 shifts per week
- Weekends and nights will be a possibility, but not very often
Salary:
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Paramedic, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide clinical leadership to small team of paramedics
- Have an individual approach to all patients, providing triage, minor illness and minor injury assessment
- Undertake the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care, within the healthcare centre and on the Wings/ blocks
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV access, hemorrhage control, wound care and cardiac & CVA intervention

Qualifications required
- Qualified Paramedic and registered with the HCPC with post qualification experience
- ILS training and certificates
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence in all aspects of the role
- Evidence of working autonomously and as part of a team
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
