Job summary
Were looking for a skilled and compassionate physiotherapist to join Willen Hospice as a Specialist Physiotherapist in our Therapeutic and Wellbeing team. Youll provide rehabilitation and wellbeing support to patients and their carers on our In-Patient Unit and in the Wellbeing Centre, working with people living with cancer, long-term neurological conditions and other progressive illnesses.

What youll do:
Carry out specialist assessments and develop dynamic treatment plans for patients with complex needs.
Deliver one-to-one and group rehabilitation focused on maximising function, independence and engagement with life.
Work with the MDT, patients and carers to agree goals and care plans, prepare for discharge and refer on to community services.
Support and educate carers, sharing difficult information with tact and empathy.
Supervise allied health professional (AHP) and physiotherapy students, and delegate tasks to our Therapies Assistant Practitioner.
Contribute to teaching, audit and research that develop rehabilitative palliative care at the Hospice.
Were looking for someone who is:
A physiotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with a degree or equivalent qualification.
Experienced in assessing and treating people with complex, long-term or progressive conditions.
An excellent communicator, confident supporting patients and families through emotionally difficult conversations.
Well organised and able to manage a varied caseload, including working independently as a lone worker.
Experience in a hospice or specialist palliative care setting would be advantageous. Postgraduate training in palliative care, oncology or neurology, would also be an advantage. Just as important is your approach: compassionate, person-centred and focused on helping people live well.
