Job summary

Important: Applicants must hold a valid NHS Care Certificate and provide evidence prior to interview.

Applicants who meet the person specification will be invited to a two-stage Clinical Support Worker Assessment Centre:

Stage 1: Your Care Certificate documentation will be reviewed to confirm that it is valid, fully completed and meets the required standards. A valid Care Certificate must include completion of the theory component, workplace competency assessments completed in a real work setting and signed off by an appropriate assessor, and evidence that all 16 Care Certificate Standards have been completed. Online theory-only certificates will not be accepted.

At this stage, we may also seek clarification where further information is required in relation to your application, employment history or supporting evidence.

You must bring your Care Certificate, completed workbook and assessment or competency sign-off documentation with you on the day.

Stage 2: Candidates who successfully meet the requirements of Stage 1 will progress to the next stage of the assessment process. This will include a formal interview and, where required, numeracy and literacy assessments. Numeracy and literacy assessments will not be required where candidates can provide evidence of Functional Skills, GCSE Maths and English, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Please note: The vacancy may close early due to a high volume of applications.

Main duties of the job

You will assist with patient hygiene needs, toileting, nutritional intake, assisting patients with their mobility and physical comfort and monitoring and recording vital signs.

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work using your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.

In conjunction with registered staff, you'll contribute to the assessment of patient's activities of daily living and the care required.
