Job summary

Are you looking for an exciting, patient-centred role where you can make a real difference? If so, we would love to hear from you.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a Therapies Assistant to join the HIV Therapies Team based at Heartlands Hospital.

In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for managing an agreed caseload, undertaking a range of initial screenings and supporting people living with HIV in an outpatient setting. You will work closely with experienced Dietitians and Occupational Therapists as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, helping to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

As a valued member of our dynamic and supportive team, your ideas and contributions will be encouraged and respected. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of people living with HIV.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a conscientious, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who enjoys being part of a vibrant team and is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. The successful candidate will contribute to a friendly and supportive working environment and possess excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills, enabling them to engage effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Previous experience working within HIV services is not essential; however, a commitment to supporting people living with HIV and a willingness to challenge stigma and promote inclusivity are key requirements of the role.

Applicants must be flexible, the role may include participation in an evening clinic if required. Excellent teamwork, organisational and time management skills are essential.

This is a full-time, permanent position within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team. We are committed to the ongoing professional and career development of all staff and actively encourage learning and development opportunities. The Trust is also committed to providing a seven-day therapy service, and the successful candidate will be expected to support service delivery in line with this commitment.

Come and join us.
